A ceremony was held in honour of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the war at the National War Memorial in Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte which the fallen soldiers’ families attended.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa attended the ceremony along with several religious leaders who performed their respective rites during the event.
A minute’s silence was also observed in respect of the fallen soldiers.
