15-year-old girl stabbed and killed in Mahasenpura

A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death using a sharp object in the Mahasenpura area in Polonnaruwa.
Police are yet to determine the motive behind the murder, which had occurred last evening, while the main suspect has fled the area.
The body of the victim has been placed in the mortuary of the Polonnaruwa hospital.
Meanwhile in a separate incident a worker at a timber store in Hettimulla, Beruwala has committed suicide by hanging himself inside the shop.
The deceased has been identified as a 32-year-old resident of Alawathugoda.
Beruwala Police are conducting further investigaiotns into the incident.
