A person was killed after being struck by a train at an unprotected crossing in the Uruwela area in Kosgama, police stated.
The train was traveling from Colombo to Avissawella at the time of the incident while the victim was a 40 year old resident of the Lower Kosgama area.
The body was taken to the Avissawella hospital while the Kosgama police are conducted further inquiries into the incident.
