VIDEO: Three missing as boat capsizes in Kalu Ganga, 7 rescued

Three persons are reported missing while seven others were rescued after a boat capsized in the Kalu Ganga at Meehitiya, Ratnapura this morning.

Police said the incident occurred at around 9.00am today (02) and that the missing persons are a father, son and daughter of the same family.

A group from Negombo was returning after attending a funeral in Meehitiya and were crossing the Kalu Ganga when the boat capsized, acting police spokesman SSP Prishantha Jayakody said.

A total of 10 passengers including the owner of the boat had fallen overboard, however 7 of them were rescued.
