CDF personnel among 8 nabbed for fishing in Wilpattu

In a joint operation carried out today, wildlife officers and Army Commandos apprehended 8 individuals, including 6 Civil Defence Force personnel, who were fishing in the Mahawewa within the Wilpattu National Park.
Various fishing gear such as nets were seized from the suspects, who have been identified as residents of Kukulkatuwa, a village located near the Wilpattu National Park.
They are scheduled o be produced at the Nochchiyagama Magistrate’s Court.
