Seven held digging for treasure in Kolonna

Police arrested seven individuals engaging in excavation activities in the Egodakanda area in Kolonna with the intention of recovering hidden treasures.

Kolonna Police said the suspects were arrested in an operation carried out according to information received by the police emergency hotline service.

Police officers also confiscated various equipment used for excavations and religious ceremonies.

The suspects are scheduled to be produced at the Embilipitiya Magistrate’s Court today.
