Railway trade unions call off strike

Railway trade unions have called off the strike after discussions with the Transport authorities.
Several trains were cancelled leaving thousands of commuters stranded after the Railways Professional Trade Union Alliance launched a 48 hour strike from midnight on July 07.
A total of 11 trade unions attached to the Trade Union Alliance took part in the strike action, based on several demands including a wage hike.
