Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara transferred

The Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Pujith Jayasundara, who was in charge of the Eastern province, has been transferred to Police Headquarters.

Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara was alleged to have forced police officers to kneel after a sergeant attached to the Traffic Division of the Kattankudy Police was nabbed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2000. 

Therefore an inquiry was launched into the incident and the Senior DIG has been transferred accordingly, the Police Spokesman’s Office said.
