Child dies after three-wheel driver falls asleep

A three-wheeler crashed into a parked lorry after the driver had fallen asleep killing a 2-year-old child inside the vehicle at Kadugannawa on the Colombo-Kandy main road today.

Police said the child was admitted to the Peradeniya Hospital with critical injuries however died shortly after.

The deceased is a resident of Daulagala, Rangoda.

Peradeniya Police are investigating the incident.
