No tuition before exams - Department of Examinations

July 23, 2014   10:27 am

The Department of Examinations has come forward to ban last minute revision classes, seminars, and lectures five days before major State examinations, including the grade five scholarship test to be held 11 August.

It is too prohibited to distribute model papers and past question papers of examinations, during this period.

Accordingly, seminars organized by tuition classes will not be permitted to conduct when examinations such as the grade five scholarship test, O/L and A/L exams are about to take place.

The prohibition will be implemented under the terms of the Examination Act No. 25 of 1968. A circular on this regard was also issued on 30 May 2013.

Police Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said the police is empowered to take legal actions against those who violate this prohibition rule.
