VIDEO: Government supports the spread of racism - JVP

The JVP today accused that the government supporting the spread of racism in the country in a bid to uphold the political power.
Central Committee Member of the JVP Bimal Ratnayake expressed the observations while commenting to media at an event in Colombo organized to sign a petition to eliminate racism from Sri Lanka.
“This state of affairs prior emerged in countries such as Ukraine, Palestine, Iran, and Afghanistan. People should scrape together to bring down separatist and extremist political elements from the country,” said Ratnayake.
He went on saying that people from Kilinochchi to Hambantota gathered in temples, Kovils, churches, and mosques to sign the petition, despite the nationality and religion views, to vow, there will not be another conflict due to religious issues.
“The war that last long for three decades was resulted by the activities of UNP leaders in 1983, through supporting the spread of racism. We don’t want another,” Ratnayake added.
