VIDEO: Meegalewa kidnapping - motive remains unknown

The police investigation teams are still looking for clues to arrest unidentified offenders who abduct a four-year old child from his house in Katugampalagama area in the Meegalewa Police Division.
“Suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, as abductors have not demanded any ransom for the release of the child. The motive behind the kidnapping remains shrouded in mystery,” an investigating officer said.
According to the police, in a joint operation, three police teams from Galgamuwa, Giribawa and Meegalewa, conduct inquiries into the incident.
Damindu Yasen Kumara was abducted on Monday (28) night. Mahinda Kumara, a rice miller, father of the abducted child, in his statement to the police stated that his son was abducted by four persons who approached his house in two motorbikes, with their faces covered with full-face helmets and masks.
The police say they have recorded statements from eight persons including the parents, on this regard.
