Showers in Western province - Met. Department

The Meterology Department says that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. Showers may spread to the North-Western province too.

Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or night.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities.

Winds speed may increase up to 60 kmph at times in the deep sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Galle and will be rough at times.
