Individual nabbed with gold at airport

A Sri Lankan male, from Kandana, aged 35Y, has been detained by the officials of Airport Authority and handed over to Customs at Airport Departure lounge.
He was attempted to taken out Two pieces of Gold slabs, weighing 231g, concealed in two mobile phones, valued at Rs. 1,155,000.00, to Chennai by UL 127 at 13.35 hrs on 22.08.2014.
The Investigations were being carried out by Supdt. of Customs Mr Tissa Priyantha Silva, Asst. Supdt. of Customs Mr. A Jaleel, Mr. SSM. Fernando, Mr. WAI. Pushpakumara, and Mrs. KKD. Priyadharshanee.
After the Customs Inquiry held by Deputy Director of Customs Mr. Sunil Premaratna, forfeited the Gold slabs and imposed a penalty of Rs. 50,000.00
