Truck driver remanded after running over pregnant woman

A tipper truck driver who was arrested after running over and killing a pregnant woman in the Nawakkeeri area in Achchuveli, Jaffna was remanded until September 11 by the Jaffna Mallakam Court.
The driver, a 52-year-old resident of Achchuveli, was arrested after his tipper truck collided with 25-year-old Shashidaran Subhashini, who succumbed to injuries on Thursday evening.
The tipper truck involved in the accident was torched by angry residents in the area.
Achchuveli Police are investigating the incident.
