VIDEO: Soldier self-immolated in protest of Pillay’s actions against Sri Lanka

A 73-year-old retired Army soldier who set himself on fire in front of the Colpetty Police station yesterday has succumbed to his injuries, this morning.

The victim was identified as a resident of Kalalgoda area in Thalawathugoda. 

The police Media Unit told Ada Derana that the person has set himself on fire after pouring a bottle of petrol. 

The soldier told Ada Derana that he had set himself on fire in protest of Navi Pillay’s actions against Sri Lanka, and some other elements who conspire against the country.
