Over Rs 3.3 million stolen in Mt. Lavinia

Over Rs 3.3 million in cash, belonging to a private educational institution in Mount Lavinia, has been robbed by a group of individuals today, police said.

The robbery had taken place at around 11.00am today when an executive official of the institute was transporting the cash to be deposited at a bank, the Police Spokesman’s Office.

The money was reportedly stolen by two men who had arrived in a three-wheeler. They had made away with approximately 3,386,850 rupees.

Mount Lavinia Police are investigating the incident while no arrests have been made so far.
