October 18, 2014   08:04 pm

The Welipenna entrance and exit of the Southern Expressway are not in operation due to flooding in the area.

However, vehicle movement has not been restricted on the expressway, police said.

Several roads and low lying areas in the Kalutara district  have been flooded.

The Welipenna town in the Mathugama-Aluthgama road has been underwater since last night. The divisional secretaries inform that all rivers in the district have reached overflowing levels.
