Over 100 fake notes found inside bus

Galle Police today recovered a parcel of counterfeit currency notes from a private passenger transport bus traveling from Colombo to Kataragama.

The parcel reportedly contained over 100 fake notes of Rs 1,000 denomination.

The conductor of the bus had initially discovered the suspicious ownerless parcel and had proceeded to hand it over to the Galle Police Station. Upon opening the package, police officers found 104 counterfeit currency notes inside. 

No arrests have been made over the discovery while Galle Police are conducting further investigations.
