23 injured after bus topples in Godamawita

At least 23 persons were wounded and hospitalised after a passenger bus veered off the road toppled into a canal in the Godamawita area on the Dammulla-Ahaliyagoda road.
Police said the driver had lost control of the bus, resulting in the accident.
Eight of the injured have been admitted to the Ahaliyagoda Base Hospital while the rest were admitted to the Kiriporuwa Hospital.
Meanwhile a motorcyclist died after he crashed into the back of a parked lorry in Paranthan 259th KM Post on the A9 road.
The deceased is a 22-year-old resident of Kattakadu.
