BBS to enter politics

General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero said that their organization will bring forward suitable candidates for the next General election.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo, this morning.

Gnanasara Thero said that the BBS has no intention to present any Bhikkhus for the election, therefore it will name lay candidates at the appropriate time.

“Our main purpose is to produce lay persons who can guide and provide leadership. We have already identified, and in the process of identifying the ideal candidates. This step is for the sake of our nation,” Thero added.

Gnanasara Thero went on saying that they have already found their leadership, on this regard, and it will be too announced when the appropriate time comes.
