The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) today launched an awareness program to announce the general public on its recommendations to the government.

Patali Champika Ranawaka MP while addressing the media during the event said “the country strongly needs a constitutional and political reconstruction today. These recommendations will apply to rebuild country’s economic, political, and social aspects.”

He added that the JHU will announce its decision on whom to support at the forthcoming Presidential election at an event which is scheduled to host at the National Library on 27 November.

“The JHU will oppose, without any conditions, if any party attempts to create war crime charges against the country, but anyone should not use it for their advantage,” Ranawaka said.

Some eight recommendations drafted by the National Council for a Better Tomorrow (NCBT) including to abolish the executive presidency was handed over to the Government, few weeks ago. The recommendations urged that the government must implement the proposals for the 19th Amendment to the constitution before the Presidential elections.
