CMC budget passed with just 1 vote against

The 2015 Budget of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has been passed with a majority of 30 votes with 31 votes in favour and just 1 vote against.

UPFA’s Mahinda Kahandagama was the only Colombo Municipal Councillor to vote against the budget, which was presented to the council by Mayor A.J.M. Muzammil.

Twelve CMC members refrained from voting on the budget while another 6 members were absent at the time of the vote.

Meanwhile another 3 councillors were not present yesterday when the budget was presented at the Colombo Municipal Council, which consists of 53 members in total.
