The Department of Meteorology says that the atmospheric disturbance is still affecting the weather over the island. As such cloudy skies with showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island particularly in the Central, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.

Heavy rain falls (more than 150mm) are also expected at some places while occasional showers will continue to prevail over the deep and shallow sea areas off Eastern and Southern casts as well.

There may be temporary localized strong winds (up to 80 Km/hr) during thundershowers, the Met Department said, in a severe weather advisory issued this morning.
