Arachchikattuwa PS chairman remanded

The Chairman of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha, Jagath Samantha Perera, who was arrested on charges of assault, has been remanded by the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court.

Chilaw Magistrate Shirantha Manchanayake ordered that the accused be remanded until February 06.

Perera had been accused of storming a restaurant in the Bangadeniya area in Chilaw and assaulting three individuals on January 08.  

He was remanded after surrendering to courts yesterday.
