The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today announced that it has appointed a three member committee in a bid to gather facts in connection with allegations of corruptions, misuse of public property, and funds during the previous government.

The observation was made by Western Provincial Councillor and JVP Kalutara district leader Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The complaints can be made with the following phone numbers. 0112 89 63 94 and 0718 10 68 63, he said.

The JVP, last week, too lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against 12 former governmental members including former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

On 19 January, Parliamentarian and JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath as well filed a petition at the Supreme Court and sought an order for the arrest of one time LTTE’s arms procurement wing leader and ‘international secretariat’ Shanmugam Kumaran Tharmalingam alias Kumaran Pathmanathan.
