If the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) are about to fall apart, that will happen due to the activities of former President Chandrika Bandaranaike, UPFA Matara District Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma charged.
The observation was made at a press conference held at the Sri Abayaramaya Temple in Narahenpita on Monday (15).
“However, some elements attempt to make the political rallies, which were organised to ‘call back’ former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, accountable to this split. But it is Bandaranaike who is behind this deal,” Alahapperuma claimed.
He also pointed out that the recent rally held in Matara, where a total of 76 MPs were attended, was the most successful of its kind.
“However, the Yahapalanaya government attempted to interrupt the Matara meeting. There was a sudden water cut at Matara town on June 12. Reasons unknown, SLTB buses were not working that day as well,” he added.
