Woman’s body found inside luggage identified

The body found inside a luggage at the Bastian Mawatha Bus Terminal in Pettah has been identified as a 34-year-old woman from Vaddukoddai, Jaffna. 

Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that further investigations are still ongoing and that no arrests have been made so far. 

Police on Wednesday (29) found the remains of a woman inside a luggage at the bus station near Bastian Mawatha.

The body was recovered after a pedestrian, who spotted the luggage, informed the Colombo Fort Police while it was taken to the Colombo National Hospital for an autopsy.
