At least 17 persons have been injured and hospitalised after two buses collided at Diyagala in Ginigathhena.

A private bus travelling from Hatton to Kandy and an SLTB bus travelling on the opposite direction from Kandy to Hatton were involved in the accident.

The wounded passengers have been admitted to Ginigathhena, Nawala, Dikoya and Watawala hospitals.

Police suspect that the driver of the private bus was at fault and was responsible for the collision.
