The Colombo District Court today granted leave to proceed with a case filed by two resident of Kolonnawa seeking the release of a building allegedly being forcibly occupied by MP Hirunika Premachandra and her mother.
The case is to be taken up for hearing on March 29 while Hirunika Premachandra and her mother Sumana Premachandra have been named as respondents.
The petitioners claim that a building owned by them had been obtained by the defendants to maintain a party office and that although they had requested for it to be returned to them since February last year, the building has still not been returned to the owners.
Therefore the petitioners request that the court order the occupants to vacate the building and that it be returned to them.
