The mandate of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Missing Persons has been extended by three months, the Commission Secretary says.

To date, over 20,000 complaints have been received by the Commission, inclusive of approximately 5,000 complaints from relatives of missing security forces personnel.

The three-member committee that comprises Mano Ramanathan, Priyanthi Suranjana Vidyaratna, and former High Court Judge Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama, was appointed by Extraordinary Gazette, No. 1823/42, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Commission of Inquiry Act.
