Heavy traffic reported near Peliyagoda

Heavy traffic reported from Nawaloka Roundabout in Peliyagoda to Thotalanga due to a demonstration staged by the residents of the area, the police said.

The demonstration has been staged in protest over the decision to remove illegal construction sites in the area, Ada Derana reporter said. Several police teams and police anti-riot units have deployed there, the reporter added.

The police spokesman advised drivers to use alternative routes if at all possible.
