Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo earlier today for a medical check-up, however due to requests made by his kith and kin he is to be admitted to a hospital in Singapore for further tests, a spokesman said.

Therefore the minister is scheduled to leave the country for Singapore tonight and if the need arises he will receive treatment there, Senaratne’s media secretary Kipuna Ekanayake said.

The Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine is expected to attend the summit of the World Health Organisation (WHO) to be held on February 22 in India, following the tests in Singapore.
