Two former PS members arrested over shooting incident

Two former members of the Dimbulagala Pradeshiya Sabha have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident, which left two person wounded, in the Aralaganwila area during the 2015 presidential race. 

The suspects were arrested by officers attached to the Police Headquarters special investigative unit and handed over to Aralaganwila Police for further investigations. 

They are charged over the attack on an election office and shooting two persons in Aralaganwila during the presidential poll in 2015, the Police Spokesman’s Office said. 

The suspects are to be produced at the Polonnaruwa Magistrate’s Court.
