Heavy traffic near Town Hall due to UNP protest march

Severe traffic congestion has been reported in and around the Town Hall area in Colombo due to a protest march, the Police spokesman said.

The protest is organised by the United National Party (UNP) against alleged false propaganda carried out by the opposition regarding the incumbent government. 

UNP-affiliated trade unions and the United National Youth Front are leading the protest march which will end with a public rally at Hyde Park Ground in Colombo.
