Met. Department predicts showers today

The Meteorology Department forecasts showers in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces and in the Hambantota district today.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 2 pm.

Meteorology Department sources also said that there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. Rains were reported from most parts of the country yesterday (28). Heavy showers were reported from observation points in Trincomalee, Nuwera Eliya, Kandy and Ratmalana, Meteorology Department sources said.
