As an interim solution to the total traffic solution in the Megapolis plan, the Government will start work on the Rajagiriya Flyover on June 06, Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Harsha de Silva says.

The project is scheduled end in January 2018, according to him.

“Soon you will save 50% of time now spent from Nelum Pokuna to Battaramulla. It gives me great pleasure to announce that as an interim solution to the total traffic solution in the Megapolis plan, we will soon start work on the Rajagiriya Flyover. Work is scheduled to begin in July 2016 and end in January 2018. The project is financed via a soft loan from the Government of Spain. This has been a something I fought for a long time and I am very happy that finally we will see construction begin,” the Deputy Minister said in a statement earlier.
