Railway gatekeepers on strike today

The keepers of unprotected railway crossings across the country are engaged in a strike since this morning (31), an official said.
Secretary of the Keepers of Unprotected Railway Crossings Association Nimal Chandrasiri said the decision was taken due to the failure to grant a proposed Rs. 5000 wage hike by relevant authorities.
According to him, over 2000 employees have engaged in the strike.
