Constitutional Council submits second report to President

The second report of the Constitutional Council has been handed over to the President. 


The report has focused on introducing several new proposals for the new Constitution, it was reported.   
 

Earlier, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya also accepted a report from the Reforms Public Representation Committee (CRPRC), which was headed by Attorney Lal Wijenayake. 


The Prime Minister said that the new constitution will be drafted only after obtaining public opinions and recommendations. The PM also announced that officials would use social media to seek public opinion on the constitution.
