The Court of Appeal on Monday (30) fixed date to consider the Writ Application filed against Shanmugam Kumaran Tharmalingam alias Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP), Ada Derana reporter said.

The Court will consider whether to go ahead with the application or not on October 25.

Earlier, the Appeal Court informed the AG to submit an investigation report on KP who was one time LTTE’s arms procurement wing leader and ‘international secretariat’.

The Appeal Court also issued an Interim Order and directed the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration to prevent KP from leaving the country on 5 February.  The Writ Application was filed by Parliamentarian and Propaganda Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP),  Vijitha Herath, last year.

The respondents for the case include the Army Commander, Inspector General of Police, and Controller General of Immigration and Emigration Department.
