Pension procedure can be amended - Brigadier Jayanath

The current army pension procedure can be amended according to the demands of the disabled soldiers, but it is uncertain how long it would take to finalize it, Military Spokesperson Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera says.
The observation was made while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (26).
“This group already receives the monthly salary and allowances,” he added. Responding to reporters, he also went on to say that the Defence Secretary could not take part in the press conference today due to an unavoidable reason.
A fast staged by the disabled soldiers and army officers also continues for the second day in Fort. The fast was commenced in front of the Fort Railway Station since last afternoon (25) over several issues in the current army pension procedure.
