Namal and five others named suspects in Hellocorp case

Hambantota district MP Namal Rajapaksa and five others have been named as suspects over money laundering charges in connection with a case filed at the Colombo Magitsrate’s Court, Ada Derana reporter said. 


The decision was made when the case filed by the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) was taken up for hearing before Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris this morning (28).


The case has been filed over the allegation of purchasing shares worth an estimated Rs.45 million from a company called Hellocorp, the reporter added.


The FCID apprised the Magistrate that they have sought advice from the Attorney General with respect of the case as well. The Magistrate has also issued a warrant for the arrest of suspect Indika Prabath who has reportedly fled the country.
