Six-year-old girl drowns in Kala Oya

A six-year-old girl has drowned while bathing in Kala Oya near Galgamuwa, Ada Derana reporter said.


The family of the girl was on their way home after a picnic to Anuradhapura when the tragedy happened, it was reported.


The girl was pronounced dead upon her admission to the Thambuttegama base hospital. The deceased has been identified as a resident of Thihariya area in Kalagedihena.


The remains of the girl are deposited at the hospital pending a post-mortem.
