One dead, 4 injured in car-lorry crash at Kiula

One person was killed while another four, including a woman and 3 children, sustained injuries after the car they were traveling in collided with a lorry at Kiula in Hungama. 

Police said that the accident took place at around 1.30 am today (23) and that all five passengers of the car – a father, mother and their three children- were admitted to the Tangalle Hospital. 

However, the father who was driving the car at the time of the accident had succumbed to injuries a short while later while receiving treatment in the ICU. The deceased and his family are residents of Bundala.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested while Hungama Police is conducting an investigation.
