The Punjab gov-ernment has constituted a working group for col-laboration with Sri Lanka, under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Shamail Ahmad Khawaja.

A formal meeting of the group was held, here on Saturday, presided over by the additional chief sec-retary and attended by Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique and others.

Describing the growth strategy of provincial government on this occasion, Shamail Khawaja stressed the need for exploring prospects of mutual cooperation with Sri Lanka, particularly in the field of teachers training, wildlife protection, tourism development and enhancement of healthcare facili-ties in the far-flung areas of Punjab.

He directed the participants to prepare presenta-tions on education sector reforms, prevalent teacher training system and core cadre system of teachers training in Sri Lanka, so that memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements could be signed with the government of Sri Lanka during the upcoming visit of Punjab Chief Minister Muham-mad Shahbaz Sharif to Colombo.
