Does Vigneswaran attempt to replace Prabhakaran, Rahman asks

The conduct of Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran sparks doubts whether he is attempting to replace the role of Velupillai Prabhakaran, UNP MP Mujibur Rahman says.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (28).

Rahman pointed out that Vigneswaran should intend to negotiate with the Government instead of holding protests if he truly desires to address the issues faced by the Tamil community.

“The North and East cannot be merged as demanded by Vigneswaran,” he added.

Rahman also severely condemned the demand of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) to request popular schools for their children.
