2017 Appropriation Bill presented to Parliament

The Appropriation Bill outlining allocations to be made for each ministry for year 2017 has been presented to the Parliament a short while ago.


Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake presented the 2017 Appropriation Bill at a special parliamentary sitting this morning. 


Minister Karunanayake will deliver the budget speech on November 10 while the budget debate will continue till December 10.


The Finance Minister said that the amended Value Added Tax (VAT) Bill will be presented to Parliament on October 26.
