MP Samaraweera released on bail, no bail for Wimal’s brother

UPFA MP Jayantha Samaraweera who was remanded on the allegation of misusing state vehicles has been granted bail by the Fort Magistrate today.


He was released on a cash bail of Rs.25,000 and two personal bails of Rs.1 million each, Ada Derana reporter said.


Meanwhile, UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa’s brother Sarath Weerawansa who was also remanded on the charge of misusing government-owned vehicles during the previous government has been further remanded until 07 November by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
