Four persons arrested for trapping sea turtles by illegal means

The Navy has found turtle meat and a sea turtle alive from a fishing boat, during a search carried out at Gurunagar Jetty.

Incidentally, 4 suspects who were onboard and two fishing nets in their possession were taken into naval custody. The apprehended persons and items along with the turtle meat and live sea turtle have been handed over to Jaffna Fisheries Inspector for onward action.
