Outgoing UN Chief commends President Sirisena

The outgoing Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, has commended the progress achieved in social, economic, political and all sectors in Sri Lanka, under the leadership of President Sirisena.
In a telephone conversation with President Sirisena yesterday (Dec. 22), he also stated that Sri Lanka’s commitment for the reconciliation is praiseworthy.
The UN Secretary-General expressed his appreciation over the great service rendered by the President towards taking Sri Lanka to a new path during his tenure as the UN Secretary-General.
He further said that under the leadership of the President, Sri Lanka would be able be achieve many victories in the future, the President’s Media Division said.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon assured to provide every possible assistance to Sri Lanka for its future endeavors, even after he is stepping down the position of UN Secretary-General.
President Maithripala Sirisena also appreciated the continuous assistance given to Sri Lanka by Ban Ki-moon as the U.N Secretary-General and extended his best wishes to him for his future endeavors.
